GEORGETOWN, Texas — Family Hospital Systems has administered more than 15,000 COVID-19 vaccination doses with the help of volunteers from JustServe, community outreach and volunteer organizations, in Williamson County at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex, the Sun City Ballroom and the Georgetown High School football stadium parking lot.

The Family Hospital Systems point of contact for the project, Mary Greenwood, expressed gratitude to all the volunteers who helped between Jan. 25 and Feb. 3, 2021. From 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for an early shift and 2:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the afternoon and evening shift, expansive efforts were made to help combat the current pandemic.
The call was for 20 medical staff to administer the vaccine and 20 volunteers to help with directing traffic, data input, greeting, handing out vaccination cards and paperwork organization.

“As I watched the organization, their kindness and professionalism, Wednesday night at Sun City while volunteering, I was so deeply touched by the commitment to help and serve,” Nancy Comancho, Round Rock East Stake JustServe specialist, said.

Vee Cannon was among the vaccine recipients. Cannon, who suffered from pneumonia and bronchitis while in college that left her with a damaged left lung, shared, “I’m feeling very grateful and very blessed to have had that opportunity given to me. Y’all are truly are angels among us.”
