AUSTIN, Texas — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is establishing a welcome center to address critical needs to assist immigrants in the Austin metropolitan area.
Beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the University of Texas and on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Catholic Charities of Central Texas, two different weekly classes are being offered through the first week in Dec. 2019 to kick off the center.
Program directors Sally and Richard Nicholls have been working to make all the arrangements to provide immigrants with “free, friendly support at two locations,” as stated on the center flyers.
“We are so excited to start this program to support existing immigrant services in Austin as well as to help as many as we can through Cultural Adaptation Classes,” Sally Nicholls said.
